My First Visit to Kathmandu – A Journey Through Work, Heritage, and Gratitude

Recently, I had the opportunity to travel to Kathmandu for professional purposes and training related to my work at Karobar Digital Pvt. Ltd.. This trip was special for me because it was my first time visiting Kathmandu.

Before this journey, I had never explored the capital city. I used to think that perhaps the first time I would visit Kathmandu would be on my way to go abroad. But life had a different and beautiful plan. Through my work with Karobar, I got the chance to come here for the first time — not for foreign travel, but because of opportunities within my own country. That realization itself felt meaningful and motivating. 🇳🇵

Visiting the Cultural and Spiritual Heritage

While in Kathmandu, I made sure not to miss visiting some of Nepal’s most important cultural and religious heritage sites.

I had the opportunity to visit:

  • Pashupatinath Temple
  • Swayambhunath Stupa
  • Boudhanath Stupa
  • Patan Durbar Square

Visiting these historic places made me feel proud of our country’s rich culture and heritage. What made it even more special was that I was able to see these sacred sites during a journey supported by my own work in Nepal. That feeling made me truly grateful.

Gratitude to a Friend

During my stay, my dear friend Smaran Rai supported me and gave me a place to stay. Traveling in a new city becomes much easier when someone is there to help and guide you. I am very thankful for his kindness and support throughout my visit. 🙏

A Truly Religious City

During this journey, I also realized something interesting about Kathmandu. As Balen Shah, the mayor of Kathmandu, once mentioned, the city truly feels deeply religious and spiritual.

While walking through the streets, I noticed small temples even on sidewalks and street corners. It felt like temples are everywhere in Kathmandu. This gave me a strong sense of how deeply spirituality is rooted in the daily life of the city.

A Memorable First Visit

This first visit to Kathmandu will always remain memorable for me. It was not just a work trip—it was also a journey of discovery, gratitude, and pride in our own country.

I hope to visit again in the future and explore even more of this beautiful and historic city.
